As some of your readers comment below, the reading medium is all about context, so I wonder why your Humanities-major friends pooh-pooh digital reading devices /Kindle (also it gives me hope that millenials like analog books, since it means they won’t die). Do your friendsalso dismiss Kindle Paperwhite, which I use along with my phone’s Kindle app in waiting rooms, queues, at stop lights, when I have 2 minutes to fill and can read NOW where my phone is handy? As for audiobooks — I need to try those along with podcasts for the gym, so I’ll go more often. I highly recommend Ian McKellan’s narration of “The Odyssey” (Fagles translation) — he is a master of disguise with his voice (pun intended)!
